Last night, I had the privilege (thanks to my great friend Elizabeth) to go and hear the Pioneer Woman/Ree Drummond speak to a large auditorium on the Plaza.
Then it got better. With your purchase of a ticket to the event, you also received one of her new Cookbooks. Even better you say? At the end of the speaking portion, she was offering to sign each one (to you) as you sit with her at the table for a photo. WOW! I mean, that is a lot of work for over 700 people! And then they said the magic words that meant I would wait in line as long as it takes — Free T-shirt. Not just any shirt, a cute shirt. All of my friends are shaking their heads right now, because they know I have a small obsession with tees. :) Printed on super-dupa-soft cotton, with an awesome design. So I waited for my turn, and I am so happy I did! Ree is so sweet, and even though she had been signing and meeting people all day — for hours on end — she had a genuine smile and great attitude! Her first words to me…”Wow, JULIET LEWIS!!!” I get this a lot, but most people don’t know her name. 🙂
If you want a new blog to add to your Reader, check out the main site here, or her Confessions, Photography, and most of all Cooking! Her writing is phenomenal, which is why her story is in talks for becoming a book! Black Heels to Tractor Wheels…
And I bet she didn’t realize that her t-shirt design could make a sweet little backdrop for a mini-session with my Mosby-dog. 🙂
All images taken at the event were with my Canon G10 — I left my big guns at home for this one! 🙂
How fun!!! That’s a great pic of you two!
FUN! I am so jealous you got to meet her. Looks like you had a great time.
looks like such a fun night!! i love the pioneer woman. thanks for sharing. that is a lovely photo of you two!
Thanks for the review! I’d have loved to meet Ree, but I’ve been following the accounts of her whistle-stops and I knew these old knees of mine would never make it. Plus, I go to bed early.
Wow! You not only got to meet Ree but you got a cute t-shirt too? Waaah! Not fair! I wish i could go to one of her book signings too!
